Lana Marie

Only 6 weeks to go! I am very much looking forward to my 3-month long hiatus in the country of Sweden... As is my boyfriend Daniel, who is only a "little" of the reason I am going ;) I've never done anything like this before, and am desperately hoping and praying that everything comes together for the good... And that my homesickness keeps itself at a dull roar ;) This being my last semester of achieving my Associates degree, I will be leaving on the tail-end of great feelings of accomplishment and success. This will be a very important and fulfilling milestone for me, having been FOUR years in the making (yikes!) and all. Hey, timeliness and speed have never exactly been my forte. Slow and steady wins the race, right? ;D

My reasons for starting this blog is so I can stay in contact with home... I won't be able to call or email everyone I would like to, and this way I can post pictures and funny/special anecdotes or other stories... Three months is a long time to store them all up and try to remember them! And it is also a very long time to be away from those I love, so I hope that my family and friends will check in every once in a while and leave me a comment, message, or some other little snippet to remind me of home. I am greatly anticipating this exciting summer, but I am not looking forward to missing out on day-to-day life, especially missing the first three months of my brand-new baby cousin's life! Don't change too much baby Morgan :( I will also be leaving behind a very huge chunk of myself in America, my best friend and co-conspirator/partner in crime... My mom. Not having her to call up at my slightest whim to poke fun at the random passersby or exclaim excitedly over a song I just heard on the radio or double over in fits of laughter with in the aisle at the grocery store... This will be sad. But we will hopefully be able to talk regularly and keep each other updated on the more important bits of news and randomness. Facebook is going to see a lot more action between the two of us! ;D I love you mom.

On a brighter note, Daniel has planned wonderful trips and exciting opportunities, including a two-week Swedish learning course and helping out at the Stockholm church in any way that I can, so I will be taking every chance to fully enjoy and grow from this experience :) My mind is open and very ready for this amazing summer and whatever God has in store for me. Keep me in your prayers and thoughts.

I've been sitting here trying to come up with something witty and unlike what has already been posted...but I've got nothing...All I can really think to say is how much I'm going to miss you over the next few months...I am however so incredibly happy for you in this amazing opportunity to spend a summer with Daniel. You are going to have a great time but I also know you are going to get homesick and that your mom will be homesick for you as well. I want you to know that you and your mom will both be in my prayers over the next few months. I hope you have a wonderful time and I can't wait to see your posts and pictures. I love ya girlie!

Kim- I am so happy you enjoy the pictures, this is the one of the reasons I decided to make a blog, so people who knew me could kind of feel like they were there with me, or could better picture where I was. Thank you for your post, hope you and your husband are well!

Josh- Thanks so much! Keep me in your prayers, seriously! :D

Hey Lana, Love your blog so far. I am soooo jealous! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time and I can't wait to see the pictures you share with us on facebook. That's probably the closest I'll get to London, and all the other places you'll be. When I was single, I love to travel..I've never been out of the US though. Be careful, I'll pray that you'll have a safe journey. God Bless you. Paulina from North Carolina~

OK Dear Grand-daughter. I do hope sleep came for you. I Know you are so excited to be there. It looks beautiful, almost as beautiful as Cambria! LOL Actually the weather is just about the same. Kind of cool. I'm headed back to hot Bakersfield tomorrow. At least the pool will be nice.
I'm so happy for you, but know that we miss you already.
Did Daniel's grampa need a nurse or a blessing when he said that? Funny, were you wearing white?
Love you mucho. Give Daniel our love.
